Joanna M. Garverick, 89,  of Lambertville, MI, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at surrounded by her loving family.  Born December 13, 1927,  in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Morrette) Kessler.  A 1945 graduate of Lambertville High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Roger Garverick on September 1, 1945.  He preceded her in death on February 14, 2011. In her early years, she was employed at the Gracewood Grill and later as a medical assistant with a local chiropracticor.  Joanna knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior as was a long-time member of Bridgepoint Church in Temperance, (formerly First Baptist Church), and in her later years attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Toledo. She loved her home, gardening, cooking and especially her family. Joanna was a kind, loving, generous and a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.  She lived out her faith by searching out those in need and displaying her love with generosity and act of kindness.  Joanna was well known to friends and family for baking and sharing her delicious cookies.

Joanna is survived by her loving children,  Linda (Earl) Boxell, Jenell (Doug) Felt, and Joseph Garverick; favorite sister, Mary VanDyke; grandchildren, Scott and Chad Lievens, Nate and Nicole (Brad) Holloway, Stephanie (Darren) Garvin, Melissa (Michael) Henning and Molly (Drew) Kaseman; and great grandchildren, Blake and Madison Lievens

Visitation at services will be private. The family would like to thank her caregivers at The Grove and Ohio Living Hospice for their tenderness and loving care they provided.  Additionally, we are thankful for her special neighbors who watch out for her and had helped to take care of her while she was in her home.
